It is with great excitement that we announce 52 of the youth in our care are graduating high school this Spring! We would like to celebrate and honor these teens for all of their hard work. We know this was no easy feat, and we hope that they continue to excel in all that they go on to do.
A special thank you goes out to the foster parents who are caring for these youth as well. Your hard work and dedication to these children have made this great accomplishment possible!
The number of children entering the foster care system each year is astounding. There are currently over 420,000 children in the system, with over 250,000 entering each year. Of these children in the foster care system, only around 50% graduate high school. With the amount of trauma and hardships some of the youth we serve have experienced, graduating high school can be a difficult accomplishment. We see daily how the services that we provide through our Foster Parents and staff can positively affect this rate, and we look forward to celebrating next year’s Class of 2019!
Best of luck to the graduating class of 2018!
