Benchmark Family Services is a network of professional, therapeutic foster homes and committed staff providing foster care services across Indiana and Kentucky.
Our goal is to provide stable, out-of-home placements for children in need, working with child welfare agencies to provide quality care to youth in the least restrictive setting possible. The results we see in the youth that pass through our care encourage us to carry on in our mission to give even the most troubled kids a second chance.

Our Mission
Benchmark’s mission is to work alongside referring agencies to provide stable and caring placements for youth in need of out-of-home care. We advocate for children by ensuring reasonable opportunities for healthy physical, psychological, and emotional growth in the most normal and least restrictive setting possible.
To this end, Benchmark will provide and coordinate programs and services in cooperation with referring child welfare agencies. Benchmark is committed to the highest standards of childcare and professionalism.
Our History
Benchmark Family Services is the result of mergers and acquisitions that combined the resources of therapeutic foster care agencies across our service area. As Benchmark, we have been providing quality out of home placements to children in need since March of 1994. We have had the privilege of placing and managing the cases of thousands of youth in the foster care systems across Kentucky and Indiana for over 26 years.
Our staff is highly experienced and well-qualified to carry out their duties and responsibilities. With over 300 staff in our organization, we have hundreds of years of social work experience to rely on as we carry out our mission.
A CARF Three Year Accreditation was awarded to Benchmark Family Services for our therapeutic foster care program. CARF accreditation demonstrates Benchmark’s quality, accountability, and commitment to the satisfaction of the people served. CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services providers in the areas of Aging Services, Behavioral Health, Child and Youth Services, Durable Medical Equipment, Employment and Community Services, Medical Rehabilitation, Opioid Treatment Programs, and Vision Rehabilitation Services.
Benchmark contracts with Admin Solutions, Inc. (ASI) to provide management and financial oversight. ASI provides Benchmark with consultation in regards to program quality, strategic growth, facilities management and financial oversight.
Benchmark uses ASIware, a placement management system, as its primary software application to track placements, progress of treatment, and case management quality.
The Indiana Association of Resources and Child Advocacy (IARCA) is a 501(c)(4) IRS classified nonprofit Association of concerned agencies who not only care for children and families, but also care about them. Founded in 1944, IARCA has made a commitment to service by bringing together a diverse group of providers into a cohesive organization, committed to the provision of quality services so that these children and families may lead healthy and productive lives in our communities.
IARCA represents approximately 90 member agencies in Indiana providing a broad array of services, including residential care, foster care, transitional/independent living, home-based services, shelter care and crisis stabilization. Benchmark Family Services is a proud member of IARCA, working together with them to provide better foster care in Indiana.
